Earlier today, WANEP–The Gambia successfully conducted a Grant Management Training for 10 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) selected to benefit from the Electoral Violence Monitoring, Analysis and Mitigation (E-MAM) Sub-Grant Programme.
The overall objective of the E-MAM project is to contribute to the reduction of electoral violence during The Gambia’s 2026 elections by strengthening the capacity of local and national actors to promote peaceful, inclusive, and credible electoral processes.
The training equipped participating CSOs with practical knowledge and skills on:
✅ Processes for accessing and implementing E-MAM sub-grants;
✅ Financial management and accountability of sub-grants; and
✅ The use of the online software for activities management and reporting.
This training marks another important step in empowering civil society organizations to effectively implement community-based initiatives that support conflict prevention, early warning, and peaceful electoral participation. We extend our sincere appreciation to our colleagues from W-A-N-E-P for facilitating a successful and insightful training session.
Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the European Union in The Gambia and European Union (EU) for its generous funding and continued support of the E-MAM Project, enabling collaborative efforts to strengthen electoral peace and democratic governance across West Africa.
